Contemporary Artworks was founded to honor the life and vision of Robert R. Lackney. His once-hidden paintings now bring soul, emotion, and movement into homes around the world — a legacy reborn in color and form.

Our Story

Founded in 2015 by siblings AnnaClaire and Cameron Lackney, Contemporary Artworks began with a discovery: thousands of painted works by our grandfather — a quiet artist and practicing architect — each filled with light, movement, and meaning.

We first launched on EBTH, and quickly realized what most online galleries were missing: soul. From that moment on, we committed to offering not just beautiful artwork, but stories you can live with.

Today, our collection includes museum-quality prints and originals — created and curated to elevate sacred, contemplative, and modern interiors.

“Our lives are fluid, they change, they are molded and shaped by events and personal experiences. We operate in an atmosphere of freedom with decisions to make and we do not, really, know how these decisions will turn out or the impact on ourselves or on the lives of others. There is a great wonder in not knowing of what will happen and how things will eventually come about.
